Saint-Jean-de-Malte Church, Aix-en-Provence, France — Révélations
Miguel Chevalier’s generative installation brings shifting networks of coloured light to the stone façade of Saint-Jean-de-Malte. Its patterns reveal the church’s towers, sculpted details and rose window, linking Gothic architecture with digital imagery.
The music by Jacopo Baboni Schilingi is also generative. Fragments of liturgical chants from different periods are processed through morphogenetic algorithms, producing an evolving musical counterpart to the changing images.
