I met Jacopo Baboni Schilingi at IRCAM in 1997 for a joint performance project based on the automatic generation of poetry and music, “Trois mythologies et un poète aveugle”. Since then, in France and abroad, we have created various works and installations together, either as a duo or with visual artists: performances and installations too numerous to list here, most of which required diverse skills and the use of industrial processes. In this context, I have always appreciated his seriousness, creativity, undeniable expertise and cordiality, which enable complex technical projects to be brought to fruition and involve people from the most diverse backgrounds.
I am convinced that he could be a competent Director, capable of leading teams with tact and intelligence in artistic projects based on complex combinations of contemporary technologies and partnerships with industry, such as those a centre like PIATI appears to envisage in proposing a new model for the development of artistic and industrial innovation.
